Applications For DataTrack 20- Kitchen/Customer
Call System
Application:A
Restaurant wants to eliminate their overhead paging for notifying the customer
their table is ready. This restaurant is very large and located in a shopping
center. Since their customer has the opportunity to wander about the area,
they needed a system that had excellent range.
Solution:
Installed a DataTrack 20 Customer Call System with vibrate/Tone
pagers.
Application:
A large Restaurant wants to improve service and eliminate their current
light bar with numbers to notify the server their order is ready for pick
up.
Solution:
Install a DataTrack 20 Kitchen Call System with Vibrate/Tone Numeric pagers.
The system can be programmed to send a numeric code to the server or activate
just the tone/vibrate.
Applications For ConneXions
II
Application:
A court house in California, required an emergency notification
system for each court room, allowing the judge the ability to summon assistance
if someone in the courtroom became unruly. The system must be supervised
and cover the entire courthouse grounds.
Solution:
Installed a ConneXions II/1 with a 128 Dry Contact Expansion unit and 064RB
solid state relay board mounted inside the expansion unit. The encoder/transmitter
was programmed for Normally Closed contacts. This gives the supervision
needed, If anyone cuts a wire the system will send a page. Installed a
"Push to Lock, Push to Release" button under each judge's bench. When pressed
it will lock into place and cause the transmitter to transmit the emergency
call to all pagers, identifying the court room that needs assistance. The
transmitter will continue to transmit until the button is Depressed again
to release it.
Application:
An Assisted Living Facility has a Resident ID nurse Call system
installed and wants to add On-Site Paging to notify staff personnel when
a wandering resident has exited an unauthorized door. Solution:
Installed a ConneXions II/1 with a Universal Communication Interface (UCI)
coded to accept Motorola COMP1 protocol, to the output of the Resident
ID Remote Console using Terminals C and 10. Each time the door goes into
alarm it will generate a datastream and the UCI will place it into the
proper paging format and send it to the paging transmitter.
Application:
A large Assisted Living Facility has a Tektone NC150N nurse call
system installed that indicates levels of calls by the speed of the flashing
light on the enunciator panel. The facility has approximately 125 rooms
on one wing and 80 rooms in another wing. They want to add on-site paging
and reduce staffing but maintain the quality of care.
Solution:
Installed a ConneXions II/3 and two Serially Programmable Voltage
Interface (202VSPA) units, connected to the light enunciator panel. The
202VSPA unit will accept 13 – 40 Volts DC and provide three messages plus
a reset per light. The unit is self calibrating and can distinguish between
a steady light – room call, fast flash – emergency call, and medium flash
– bath call. The ConneXions unit is connected to an analog telephone extension,
giving all staff members the availability to page from any in-house telephone.
The 202VSPA unit is field programmable. Each message can be sent to a group
or individual paging receiver with a specific alphanumeric message. i.e.
Mrs. Jones Needs Assistance in Room 112.
Application:
A Nursing Home in Texas has a Jeron EC610 nurse call installed and wants
to add on-site paging.
Solution:
Installed a ConneXions II/1 encoder/transmitter only, with Motorola COMP2
protocol loaded into the firmware. Attached the ConneXions II to the Computer/Data
interface unit of the Jeron EC610 nurse call system. Configured the Computer/Data
interface for 9600 baud, N-8-1. Pager IDs range from 1 to 255.
Application:
The management company of a large 20 story building in New York city wants
to be able to notify the security and maintenance personnel of all security
and fire alarms that are generated, whether the personnel are in the control
room or on patrol. The alarm panel installed has open collector outputs
of 5 to 15 volts when the alarm is activated. Additionally the operator
in the control room must have the ability to send a custom messages to
individuals or to the group.
Solution:
Installed a ConneXions II/1 with 255 inputs, consisting of two 128 dry
contact expansion units. Since the output from the panel is voltage, a
128RB voltage interface board was installed in the two 128 dry contact
expansion units. The 128RB will accept 5-60 VoltsAC or DC. Each contact
was programmed with an alphanumeric message describing the alarm. To facilitate
custom paging, PageLink Pro V1.4 paging software was installed on a standalone
PC. To ensure complete coverage of the building a molded Dipole antenna
with 15 feet of coax cable was used, vertically polarized.
Application:
An automobile dealership in Florida, wants to eliminate their overhead
paging to create a pleasant environment for their customers to purchase
luxury automobiles. They need to continue to have a rapid response by the
sales team. Since the dealership is next to a shopping center, they would
like to give their customers the ability to leave the dealership and shop
or go to one of the many restaurants. When the service department has completed
the necessary work, they want to be able to notify the customer.
Solution:
A ConneXions II/3 with a Cabaret unit for an additional telephone
line was installed. The ConneXions II/3 has three serial ports. Since the
auto dealership uses a MS-Windows NT( local area network, PageLink Pro
network version of the paging software was installed. This gives immediate
access from any workstation to all staff personnel to send a pre-set message
or draft a customer message. Since the currently installed telephone system
was digital, the line port model of the ConneXions II/3 was used. Anyone
in the dealership can pickup a telephone and dial a pre-set code and access
the paging system. The dealership purchased both numeric and alphanumeric
paging receivers. The sales staff and management have alphanumeric and
the service department issue the numeric to customers when they drop off
there car.
Application:
A Long Term Care facility has a Rauland-Borg Responder 5000 and want to
add on-site paging. The administrator requires a record of all pages made
from the nurse call system and the staff to be able to page via the in-house
telephone system. The facility has a local area network.
Solution:
A ConneXions II/1, TAP protocol software module and PageLink
Pro network version was installed. The ConneXion transmitter was connected
to the in-house telephone system so all staff members could page from any
in-house telephone. The Responder 5000 was connected to one of the computers
on the network. The TAP protocol module and PageLink Pro network version
was loaded onto the same computer. The ConneXions transmitter was attached
to the serial port of the computer. They wanted to be notified if one of
the 10 outside doors were opened. The ConneXions II/1 has 10 dry contacts,
it was programmed with the appropriate alphanumeric message for each contact.
A POCSAG LOGGING RECEIVER was installed with a serial printer to log all
pages made by the nurse call or telephone and computer.
Application:
A large Law firm located in a multi-story office complex needs to notify
their employees of current requirements of the Lawyers in the firm. This
information needs to be transmitted in a quiet and immediate manner.
Solution:
Installed a ConneXions II connected to an analog telephone extension giving
all in-house telephones the ability to access the ConneXions unit and send
a numeric message or select one of the 50 pre-set alphanumeric messages.
Installed the Page-Link Pro( network version software on the server and
the client software on each workstation allowed any workstation the ability
to transmit a custom or pre-set alphanumeric message to any staff member.
Application:
An Automobile manufacturing plant wants to be able to monitor mission critical
information points and have the alarm message automatically sent to specific
employees. In addition they want the ability to transmit custom alphanumeric
messages from any one of 200 workstations. Solution:
Installed a ConneXions II and preprogrammed the internal 10 dry contacts
in the ConneXions for each of the mission critical points, Identifying
which employee would receive the page. Page-Link Pro( network version was
loaded on the server and Client software was loaded on each workstation.
Application:
An Airport in PA has over 5,000 security alarm point they want to monitor
and when an alarm occurs, notify security personnel.
Solution:
After receiving a complete HEX data dump from the alarm
panel, Interpage was able to develop a program and place it in the Universal
Communication Interface (UCI) that would create the correct paging format
for the ConneXions II unit. When an alarm is generated it will be read
by the UCI and placed in the correct paging format then forwarded to the
paging transmitter. Since this airport covered a large geographic area,
a 10 watt amplifier was install along with a 3db gain ground plane antenna.
Application:
A Luxury hotel needed to be able to direct staff personnel to specific
locations in the hotel and provide information to better service their
guests. This must be done without creating a noisy environment .
Solution:
Installed a ConneXions II with an analog telephone interface. This allowed
all in-house telephones access to the ConneXions system for paging. The
paging unit had 50 pre-set custom alphanumeric messages programmed into
it, which could be sent to anyone of the staff members that was wearing
a paging receiver. The custom messages were designed to fit their specific
requirements. Some messages contained information and others were requests
that required a response. i.e. Call House Keeping Ext. 1234.
Applicaiton:
A large retail store in New York City wanted to be able to direct their
sales staff to areas of the store were clients needed assistance, while
eliminating the current bell notification system currently in use. It was
determined the telephone would be the best mean for communications. Solution:
A ConneXions II with an analog telephone interface was installed,
using alphanumeric paging with pre-set telephone messages.
Application:
An Assisted Living Facility has a Fisher-Berkly nurse call system currently
installed and they want to add On-Site paging. This would increase there
response time and give the residents a more secure feeling. The Fisher-Berkly
uses a modified Motorola TAP protocol.
Solution:
Installed a ConneXions II/1 and a Universal Communication Interface (UCI)
with modified TAP protocol in the firmware, with Motorola WordLine alphanumeric
pagers.
Application:
A Long Term Care Home has a Cornell nurse call system installed and wants
to add On-Site paging to assist the staff to respond faster to emergency
call than routine call, even if they were away from the nursing station.
The Cornell system uses a light panel that has different flash rates to
identify the type of call that was placed.
Solution:
Installed a ConneXions II/1 or 3 port, depending on how many 202VSP unit
will be required. Each 202VSP can handle 128 call points and the unit is
serially programmable by the end-user. After Installation and the self
calibration is completed, the unit will be able to recognize the different
flashing rates and send the appropriate page to the specified staff member.
Applications For Digilink-Four & Eight Zone
Application:
A trucking company has a satellite notification terminal
installed in all of their trucks. This System gives the driver information
about types and location of loads to be picked up. The management wanted
a way to notify the drivers when they were away from there truck that a
message had been downloaded to the terminal. Solution:
Installed a 4-Zone Digilink encoder/transmitter. Programmed the Digilink
for a normally open contact with either a numeric message or an alphanumeric
message. When a message is received at the terminal, a ground is placed
on the Digilink causing it to transmit the pre-set message to the driver's
paging receiver, within a 1-mile radius. Additional security can be added
by use of the other three contacts. Connected the contacts to; 1) a temperature
sensitive strip to monitor the temperature in the trailer and notify driver
of high temperature, 2)a normally closed switch in the door to notify of
unauthorized intrusion, and 3)a series of two switches, one located on
the hood and one on the fuel tank.
Application:
A retail-clothing store wants their customers to be able to summon a salesperson
from inside the dressing area.
Solution:
Installed an 8 -Zone Digilink attached to a bank of eight push buttons.
Programmed the Digilink with normally open contacts. Each contact has an
alphanumeric message. i.e.assistance needed in dressing room #2. This message
would be sent to a specific salesperson that is assigned to the area. The
salesperson could be located anywhere in the store.
Application:
An Assisted Living Facility has a reduced staff on duty after 7PM, but
still needs to respond to requests to gain entrance to the building and
know when the telephone is ringing when the staff member is away from the
main desk. In addition they require a means to notify all staff members
of an emergency.
Solution:
Installed a 4 or 8-Zone Digilink attached to a call button on the front
door, connected a ring relay activated by the telephone ringer and placed
a "Push to Lock, Push to Release" button at the nursing station for an
emergency button. The contacts for each button or relay can be programmed
to have a numeric or alphanumeric message transmitted to all paging receivers
or specific paging receivers.
Application:
A company located in a four story building has several hearing impaired
employees. They need to notify these employees when an emergency arises
in the building. Keeping in mind the employees can be anywhere in the building
and not near a light activated notification system. Solution:
Attached a 4 or 8 Zone Digilink either by dry contact or voltage input
from the building alarm panel. Program each contact closure for a specific
alphanumeric message. i.e.FIRE – CLEAR THE BUILDING , or POWER HAS BEEN
LOST - USE STAIRS. Each hearing impaired employee would be carrying an
alphanumeric vibrating paging receiver and would be notified anywhere in
the building. The same message may be sent to maintenance personnel for
a quicker response.
Application:
In a Long Term Care facility the staff needs to be notified
immediately if a resident has left the building through one of the outside
doors. The staff has a very large building area to cover, approximately
50,000 square feet.
Solution:
Installed Normally Closed contacts on each door leading to the outside
areas. Attached each contact to a zone on the 4 or 8 Zone Digilink. Programmed
the contact to transmit numeric or alphanumeric message to a specific staff
member or all staff members carrying a paging receiver, each time the door
is opened.
Applications Telepath 450
Application:
An auto dealership wants to eliminate overhead paging from their dealership.
They also want to have a paging terminal in two different location that
will page all pagers. Having telephone access to the paging terminal is
also a requirement. Solution:
Two Telepath 450 units were installed, one with telephone access and one
without. Each unit has a desktop numeric keypad for sending numeric messages.
Both units will communicate with all the pagers on premise since the base
ID of the units are the same.
Application:
A stamping plant needs to have one-way communications with its key employees,
which work in a very noisy environment. The system must include access
to the telephone and a paging terminal. It was determined numeric information
would be adequate.
Solution:
A Telepath 450 with an analog telephone interface was installed.
Any employee can access the paging system by using any in-house telephone.
The operator can page from the desktop numeric keypad.
Application:
A Grocery Store wants to eliminate overhead paging and is looking for a
way of reducing the amount of customers who are standing around the pharmacy
department waiting for their prescriptions.
Solution:
Installed a Telepath 450 and numeric pagers. Each customer can be issued
a pager when they drop off their prescription at the pharmacy counter.
The customer can be anywhere in the store and receive the page to return
to the pharmacy and pick up their prescription.
